Thanks be to God! We have raised £200,000
Thats 25.75% of the total
The time before Easter seems so long ago doesn’t it? Since the last update in March we have been busy as a fundraising team writing applications, planning exciting events, and giving out chocolate. Pictured below is the Mothering Sunday Bake Sale.
So successful that we had to find more tables to put products on!
Events
Our Mothering Sunday Bake Sale made £240 and was a joyful occasion anyone could join in with. From the breads and cakes on offer it seems that St Matthew’s almost has enough talented bakers to open a bakery!
On Easter Day we held a raffle and thanks to Poppy and others who sold tickets we made over £200! And we gave away some terrific prizes too. A happy Easter indeed.
Grants Awarded
We are grateful to the Trustees of The Number One Trust who have generously awarded us a grant of £50,000! The Number One Trust have been a great encouragement to us here at St Matthews and have supported our Development Worker, Parish Nurses, and much more.
As a church confidently belonging to the Catholic movement in the Church of England we not only stand on the shoulders of spiritual giants who have faithfully taught the faith once delivered to the saints, we also benefit from their financial legacies. These generous gifts are entrusted to us to continue the work they pioneered, reaching the people in our Parish with the life-changing message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Personal Giving
The Beauty of Holiness – Fr Alan Watson
Fr Watson has planned a generous gift of £10,000 the renewal of the Sanctuary.
“The church is not only a silent witness to God but the place where we experience the beauty of holiness in the sacraments and worship and the beauty of the church
Therefore I am happy contributing to the Regenerate project repairing the sanctuary floor to beautify and repair this sanctuary to be a witness in Sheffield.”
