The Parish Church in the Heart
of the City of Sheffield
St Matthew’s is the parish church at the heart of Sheffield City Centre
Please note that there is no Mass on Mondays at the moment. We will say Midday Prayer at 12.30 in church which you are more than welcome to join us for.
When at Mass, please continue to socially-distance, wear a mask (unless exempt) and wash your hands as you enter the building. Please do not mix with anyone from outside of your household.
Don’t forget that we have a Vigil Mass on Saturday at 6pm and a Said Mass on Sunday at 6pm. Please attend an evening Mass if you are able to rather than Sunday morning.
We continue to pray for one another’s safety and for those working in public health in our city and region.
You are invited to join our community, to come and to recognise Jesus Christ at work in your life and to worship Him here.
You will find here a warm welcome and supportive fellowship, where you can grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Worship is offered everyday in this church. We exist to be a sanctuary of peace and prayer and to be a centre of hope and evangelisation.
At the heart of the Christian faith is the Love of God. Christians believe that Jesus is both God and human, and that by becoming a human being Jesus offered himself on the cross as a loving sacrifice for the sins of the human race.
