Thanks be to God! Together we have raised £449,806.22
Thats 57.9% of the total
Since 1855 this church has been a space of grace and glory in the heart of the city. We are raising funds in an ambitious plan to:
Restore our Grade II listed church to be a sanctuary of beauty to the praise of God in the city.
Regenerate to give new vision and purpose to our evangelisation that we may continue to grow the Church throughout this century.
Renew the Nave space to enable flexibility, community use and enhanced hospitality.
Our church building is a precious inheritance handed to us by those who have loved and served Jesus Christ here in Sheffield. Each generation has added to its rich beauty, leaving a lasting legacy to bring glory to God and joy to His people. It is one of the main ways we serve our Parish; providing a free and open sacred space in a hurried and distracting world.
As it is, use of the church is limited by an inaccessible entrance, uneven floor, and fixed pews. We plan to put in a new floor in the Nave with movable pews.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters the Regenerate project is now moving closer to its first phase: The restoration of the Chancel.
For some time the Chancel floor has been protected by a carpet to prevent further deterioration. We are now able to proceed with an ambitious scheme to install a new floor reflecting the historic design and to restore the beautiful Art Deco Choir Stalls.

Ulrike Knox our Architect, working closely with leading restorationists and craftsmen, has completed a design which will stabilise the floor and replicate the original design by J.D. Sedding in 1886.
We hope to begin this work in the Autumn. Please pray for the permissions process.
The Fundraising Journey

With a sum to raise of £776,662 to raise we have been busy connecting with generous. Benefactors have generously contributed from their private finances, and fundraising events have brought many new faces into the church to help reach the total.
The bulk of the funding has so far come from grants. Christian grant makers have supported this project because of our case for mission, heritage, and community use.
But the investment of individuals and communities in the project is one of main ways grant-makers decide on an application.
Our attractive and high-impact Fundraising events fill the church and help us demonstrate the need for investment.
Oktoberblest 2024
BEER & GIN FESTIVAL
FRIDAY 27 – SATURDAY 28 SEPTEMBER

Now an annual fixture in the life of the Parish this festival brings together local brewers, craft beer fans and local musicians, in this beautiful historic Sheffield space. For this third year we are expanding again and offering a selection of gin and extending the festival into Saturday evening.
Last year we welcomed over 100 visitors over two days. With a team of 10 working various shifts we kept them fed, served, and happy and got the church turned around in time for Mass the next day. We also raised £1600 for Regenerate.
Let’s step it up this year. Here’s how you can help:
- Buy a ticket and attend
- Bring friends and family
- Volunteer for a shift serving beer
- Sign up to the clean up crew
- Perform live music
- Sponsor a beer
- £50 gets your organisation in the brochure
- £100 gets a name on one of the beers
- £150 and distribute your own literature and marketing
Special guest on Friday Night Nick Law founder of Emmanuales who will give a talk on his faith and brewing beer.

Pave the Nave
After the Chancel is restored the Nave floor is the next goal of the Regenerate Campaign. We need a smart space to improve access and increase flexibility.
The total cost of the floor tiles is £46,880. We are taking donations for 1X1 Square Metres at £160. There are 293 square metres of flooring needed. When you make a gift, not only will you be helping to make this church beautiful and fit for Mission today, you will be securing its future for all.
As the campaign progresses there will be more opportunities to give to specific parts of the project. Together, with all our gifts, we will give glory to God and serve our neighbours with a fitting Parish Church where God may be praised for generations to come.
Donate using the BACS details below and put NAVE in the reference.
Email regenerate.project@carverstreet.co.uk to record the gift.
Become a Regenerate Partner
Since the launch of this project we have been encouraged by the faithful band of donors who have committed to give each month. The commitment of individuals not only raises funds but also demonstrates to major grant funders that our plans have significant local and national support. It also gives the fundraising team encouragement to know that a committed group are praying for the project and making an offering to God for the sake of the future of the church building.
Monthly giving starts at £25. Find the BACS details below and add “Monthly” to the reference.
We give thanks for the ongoing gifts of: Fr Harri Williams, the Vicar of Walsingham; Dr Jean Russell; Fr Alan Watson; Mr Barry Kelly; Mr & Mrs Suckling; Mr & Mrs Linskill; and Fr Naylor, the Vicar of Carver Street.
