Thanks be to God! Together we have raised £492,876.31

Thats 63.3% of the total

Giving thanks for 2024

When we launched the Pave the Nave campaign in the Summer of 2024 we had no idea how much support it would receive. Gifts, Sponsored Runs, and fantastic Events have helped us get 63% of the way there in just eight months!

Thanks to our members and friends we have raised excitement and support with Sponsored Runs from Minerva and Chris, the sale of some terrific merchandise, and the many people who came out to the Beer Festival and to see friend of St Matthew’s Peter Cain perform the Classical Guitar.

We began the Pave the Nave project ambitiously asking for 293 square metres to be covered by gifts. And as of writing this, we have achieved 203 squares! Praise the Lord from whom all good blessings come!

And did those feet…? Scarfell Pike Hike 6 May

…walk upon England’s mountains green?’

Fr Naylor and Michaela Suckling are taking the hard path to make ours easier in church.

Scarfell Pike is the tallest mountain in England, its peak 3,210 feet 978 metres) above sea level. It is so tall that on a clear day, you can see other peaks as far away as Wales, Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man!

Scafell Pike was donated to the National Trust in 1919 by Lord Leconfield. This gesture was made to honour the men of the Lake District who lost their lives fighting for their country in the First World War.

This challenging hike will be made with the ambitious goal of raising the funds for 20 1x1m squares of our new Nave floor.
