Sounds of the City – Joseph Myers Dawson

Joseph studied the cello at Manchester’s Royal Northern College of Music with the distinguished professors of cello Sally Pendlebury (Fitzwilliam Quartet), Eduardo Vassallo (CBSO’s principal cello), and Petr Prause (Talich Quartet), who have all helped him mature as both a musician and a person.
He has been a finalist of the RNCM’s annual concerto competition and Barbirolli competition, as well a recepient of scholarships from Help Musicians UK and the RNCM itself.
Last year Joseph was awarded the RNCM’s Hirsch Chamber Music Award along with violinist Riley Court-Wood for their performance of Kodály’s Duo for Violin and Cello.
