The Vicar and PCC of St Matthew’s Church, Carver Street, Sheffield are looking to appoint an

ORGANIST AND DIRECTOR OF MUSIC

We are looking for an enthusiastic Organist and Director of Music to enhance our musical life. The successful applicant will contribute to the mission of our parish by maintaining and developing our high standards of liturgical worship through
excellent musicianship. They will play the church organ – a 1992 Goetze & Gwynn instrument based on the early work of Bernard Smith, widely regarded as one of the most unusual and interesting organs in the area, – direct and build up our parish choir, seek ways of using music to further the mission and growth of the church, and promote the parish as a place of excellence in music within the local area.

The parish of St Matthew’s, Carver Street, lies within the Anglo-Catholic tradition of the Church of England, and has a long-standing history of liturgical distinction in which music plays a vital part. We are in the Diocese of Sheffield and are a parish of The Society under the care of the Bishop of Beverley.

Closing date for applications: midday 27th May 2022 with interviews on 9th June 2022
