Thanks be to God! We have raised £333,000
Thats 43% of the total
First of all, thank you all those who have been on this incredible journey with us this past year. From hopes and prayers at a dinner at the Traveller’s Club in London to leaping out of aeroplanes this great work of making the historic St Matthew’s Carver Street fit for mission today and securing its legacy as a place of beauty and devotion for generations to come has progressed from a faith-filled dream and is rapidly turning into reality.
We have so much to be grateful for. Let’s give thanks for ‘Who are we O Lord God, and what is this house, that you have brought us thus far’ – 1 Sam. 7:18
Events
Moscar Lodge £4000
A great gift of Her Grace the Duchess of Rutland was the use of her gorgeous Hunting Lodge in the foothills of the Peak District for a brilliant day out. A young woman who had just attended Mass for the very first time even bought a ticket and came to spend the day with the people of St Matthew’s!
We have found that so many of our fundraising events have also been opportunities to share a kind welcome, to meet those who do not yet know the Lord, and to build meaningful relationships with our neighbours for the sake of the Gospel.
Grants Awarded
The Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament £25,0000
The CBS are a devotional society dedicated to the advancement of the catholic faith in the Anglican Tradition. They pray, work, and award grants that will promote the honour due Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. We are grateful that they have blessed our work with this significant financial contribution.
With them we share that devotion to the Sacrament, the desire that the the Eucharist should be celebrated with great dignity and beauty, and the goal that more and more people should come to know Christ in the Sacrament and be prepared in mind, body, and spirit, to receive Him in this precious gift.

The Regenerate Prayer
O God, creator of all that is good, help us to build on our past as we place all our hope in You, our future. Bless our plans, we pray, as we seek to regenerate St Matthew’s into a sanctuary fit for mission today. Fashion us into a living and worthy temple of your Holy Spirit, that we may always worship you in the beauty of holiness. We make our prayer through Jesus Christ, our risen Lord. Amen
