Thanks be to God! We have raised £303,500
Thats 39% of the total!
It has been a busy May in the life of St Matthew’s. We have enjoyed a Parish Pilgrimage to Walsingham, a joyful service of Confirmation and Baptism with Bishop Tony Robinson, guests from the city of Sheffield to give thanks for our Parish Nursing Ministry, a fantastic choral concert, AND a great Regenerate fundraising craft and local maker’s fair.
As you can see we have also made a big leap toward our goal. Read on to find out how we got there and what other exciting fundraisers we have coming up!
Events
Craft Fair £500
We welcomed contributions from members of St Matthew’s and local makers at our Craft Fair on 14 May. Alongside our other exciting events and services in May the Craft Fair not only helped us advance Regenerate but also meet new friends and show hospitality to hard working and talented makers and producers from our city.
Grants Won
Fellowship of St John the Evangelist £50,000
After a joyful and exciting visit from the Trustees of FSJE we have been awarded a grant of £50,000. This Trust was established to further the ministry of the Church in accordance with the original missionary spirit of the monks of the The Society of St John the Evangelist and we are incredibly grateful to counted amongst those who live up to their inspiring vision for the Church today.
Sheffield Church Burgesses £50,000
The Church Burgesses are a local patron and great supporters of the ministry here at St Matthews. We are thankful that we have been selected to receive this most generous gift, and that they trust us to do the Gospel work they have been trusted to support in Sheffield.
Personal Giving
Finding a home – Dr. Jean Russell
University of Sheffield & Assistant Sacristan
“St Matthew’s is a place where I reconnected with a worshipping Community after several years away. It was fantastic to once again receive the sacraments with other Christians I belonged with. I give £20 regularly to the Regenerate Appeal; it is a small amount but builds up with time. It is my way of showing my hope that Regenerate will not just update the infrastructure of the church, but also enable the growth in community and mission for St Matthew’s.”
